Sysiphusimism

Sysiphusimism: noun. Similar to pessimism, sysiphusimism is the act of having no hope for onself or the world, because all previous attempts at doing something have failed. Interestingly, people suffering from sysiphusimism are not called sysiphusimists but sissies, the term not being viewed as derogatory. In the light of these facts, several psychologists in Botswana did research on icons of the American culture and found out that the lion in the Wizard of Oz was originally not a scaredy-cat, but a feline suffering from chronic depressions and that his voyage to Oz was really an ordinary trip to obtain his yearly medications.
