Kamfoodle

Kamfoodle: verb. Trying to conceal the smell of one´s fart with singing or by turning on loud music. As this is hardly effective at all, kamfoodling has gone out of practice and has only been rediscovered by Homer in one episode of the Simpsons. The word kamfoodle was first used when a variety of giant baked beans was introduced on the American market. In the shop where they were offered for being tasted, the smell of the customers´ winds was warding everyone off which convinced the shopkeeper to take immediate action. Desperately, he turned on the radio trying to even out the smell – obviously without any success. However, the confused actions of the shopkeeper were so amusing that they attracted more customers and because of the very rhythmic song that was playing on the radio at the time, kam-kam –foodle-boodle, the name of this stupid idea went down in history as kamfoodle.
