Fostulate

Fostulate verb. To propose an idea, which the proposer knows is wrong. One often fostulates when playing a trick on someone or lying. One might think that fostulating and lying are the same, however fostulating is a part of lying, lying is not a part of fostulating. The word was first used by Cleopatra, when she was speaking to Julius Caesar about her relationship with Mark Antony.
